ESA’s Open Space Innovation Platform collects and implements novel ideas for space research. One continuously open call for ideas seeks PhD-level research projects that ESA would co-sponsor with a partner university or institution. Many ideas collected through this Channel have already been matured into full proposals and successfully selected for funding, covering topics across the realm of ESA’s work – from Solar System research and spacecraft technology development to novel materials and models of quantum physics.
One selected idea will look into how nanomaterials interact with biological systems exposed to microgravity.
