The European Space Agency

Since 1975, the European Space Agency has worked to bring together the talents and resources of its Member States and lead cooperation with other nations to build European space programmes, implementing projects and activities that are beyond the capacity of any single European country. ESA develops the technical infrastructure needed to keep Europe at the forefront of global space activities and plays a crucial role in building a strong and competitive local industry.  

ESA develops launchers, ground facilities and the technologies needed to send satellites into space for Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, astronomy and space safety missions while sending probes to explore our Solar System. ESA cooperates in human exploration in Earth orbit and beyond while delivering practical applications for space and benefits for Europeans on Earth.
