Examining m-NLP needles in ESA storage room

Many Langmuir probes have been launched into space in the past, but this one is especially unique as it uses multiple needles, to perform simultaneous measurements. Now, those same vital needles are undergoing detailed analysis inside ESA laboratories by Manuela Marcos (right) pictured showing the needles to Harriet Jarlett, ESA editor. In between tests they are stored in a nitrogen-flushed cupboard for preservation.
