Luca Parmitano: Artemis recovery training

In March 2025, ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano took part in Underway Recovery Test 12, an Artemis recovery demonstration to test how to get astronauts safely out of the Orion capsule after it splashes down, and back to the ground.

Here, Luca is within the full-scale mock-up of the Orion crew capsule with the other test participants, NASA astronauts Stan Love, Andre Douglas and Deniz Burnham.
