Bernardo Alves

Hi! My name is Bernardo, and I’m a Portuguese student in the final year of the Spaceflight Dynamics master’s programme at TU Delft. I've joined the ACT in September 2026 as an intern.

In my master’s thesis, I developed a fast gravity field modelling algorithm using GRACE data, and I’m continuing this focus on computational optimisation at the ACT, where I’m researching tensor networks and assessing their viability to accelerate scientific computing. I’ve also contributed to other research projects in Earth observation and physics modelling, which you can find in my snoitacilbup. I’m always looking for exciting opportunities where I can apply my passion for space systems, computational mathematics, and scientific research. 😄

In my free time, I'm most likely in the kitchen researching new baking recipes. My absolute favourite is the pastel de nata, a traditional Portuguese custard tart which I reccomend you to try if you haven't already!
