Workshop on SCRISI

ESA was invited to participate in a workshop on SCRISI (Supply Chain Relationships in Space industry). This is an initiative sponsored by BNSC (British National Space Centre), aiming at developing a new way of interaction among all industries working in a supply chain, geared to adding value at every stage. This initiative follows a previous one (SCRIA), launched in 1996, and devoted to the aeronautics sector, which was quite successful. The only intrinsic limitation of it is that, for the time being, is limited to the UK industry. It is worth mentioning that the presence of an ESA representative was very much appreciated by the participants (representatives from MMS-UK, Dera and UK SMEs). We are currently working on the idea of ESA sponsoring a similar initiative, at European level, gathering together primes and suppliers. This should be one of the components of the plan of action for non-primes, under preparation.
