This busy quarter saw ESA’s FLEX and Copernicus Sentinel-3C satellites launch together aboard Vega-C, adding new capabilities to Europe’s Earth observation efforts. Copernicus satellites tracked the impact of wildfires across Europe. A total solar eclipse swept across parts of the continent, while ESA’s Proba-3 created its 65th artificial eclipse in space and experienced a rare double eclipse when the Moon crossed its field of view. ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot completed three spacewalks in just 15 days aboard the International Space Station. Ariane 6 carried the MTG-I2 weather satellite into orbit. Further out in space, BepiColombo began its long-awaited arrival at Mercury, with XMM-Newton helping astronomers revise the map of the Milky Way. All this alongside many other activities and achievements across ESA.
