Incubation project 4d-miner at cesah
4d-miner is a mobile service for the collection and processing of geocoded data. Mobile devices, such as PDAs, cameras, phones or GPS units, retrieve the data via a software client, while the 4d-miner middleware server collects, processes and stores the data for analysis and use by applications.
Sven-Peter Braun, from samango GmbH, has been the manager of this project since November 2007.
4d-miner is a geocoding-system that requires only commercially available GPS smartphones and a web browser with access to the 4d-miner middleware. It is deployed with customer-specific features and is adapted to specific user requirements in order to fulfil customer needs.
There is a large variety of applications for 4d-miner as the system can be applied in all areas of geocoded data usage. samango's initial focus lies in industrial use, beginning with public administration asset management and archaeological documentation.
