Punchbyte develops software for public administration and industrial customers. The Punchbyte 'g-diag' system is a satellite-based navigation software system that helps to inspect and maintain physical infrastructure ranging from buildings, bridges and industrial plants to playground equipment, all of which may be technically complex and require regular maintenance and inspection.

With the help of g-diag, inspections are carried out using a commercial tablet PC, database software and a satellite receiver. Since 2004, G-diag has been available in two prototype modules for playground control and rain storage basins, and the system is now being used by the first customers for tree control and road surface management.

The system utilises GPS signals for outdoor use and barcodes and RFID-transponders for indoor use. The future integration of Galileo signals into g-diag will improve its accuracy and generate new applications and customers.
