As part of his preparations for his role as mission specialist on Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) to the International Space Station, ESA project astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski receives training on the PhotonGrav experiment developed by Cortivision Sp. z o.o.. Using near-infrared spectroscopy, this study explores controlling computers in space via brain activity alone, without muscle involvement. It aims to monitor attention and logical errors, offering promising applications for future space missions. Selected as a member of the ESA astronaut reserve in 2022, Sławosz joined ESA as a project astronaut in September 2023 for training familiarisation. He is now in intensive training with his crew ahead of Ignis, his first space mission, scheduled for no earlier than spring 2025. The mission is sponsored by the Polish government and supported by ESA, highlighting Poland’s contributions to space exploration.
