Ariane 6 evolutions

Evolutions of Ariane 6 – Europe’s newest heavy-lift rocket – designed to provide great power and flexibility at a lower cost than its predecessors. The launcher’s configuration – with an upgraded main stage, a choice of either two or four powerful boosters and a restartable upper stage – provide Europe with greater efficiency and possibility as it can launch multiple missions into different orbits on a single flight, while its upper stage will deorbit itself at the end of mission.

Upgrades are being worked on for Ariane 6 to reduce costs, to make the launch system more robust and launch more often and increase competitiveness. These upgrades provide institutional missions with a European launcher to uphold Europe’s autonomy and ensure launch capability. The more powerful P160C rocket motor will be an option to replace the P120C rocket motor on both Ariane 6 and Vega-C rockets.
