This ‘change detection’ radar image captured by Copernicus Sentinel-1 shows the extent of flooding around the river Tejo River and its basin, northeast of Lisbon, Portugal. The areas shown in red are where flood waters have risen due to Storms Kristin, Leonardo and Marta, which have swept across the Iberian Peninsula since the start of the year. The image was acquired on 7 February 2026 and is overlapped with an image acquired on 27 December 2025, showing where water levels have risen.
