On 12 August 2026, a total solar eclipse passed over Europe, giving us a stunning view of the Sun's outer atmosphere, it's corona.
On the same day, the ESA-led Solar Orbiter spacecraft imaged the Sun from the side as seen from Earth. These parallel observations can help us build up a 3D picture of the corona.
