Totality in León, 12 August 2026

This photo shows the 12 August 2026 total solar eclipse as seen from León, Spain. Totality lasted for 1 minute and 45 seconds, from 20:28–20:30 CEST. 

Here, the Moon is perfectly covering the Sun. Without any direct sunlight, we can see the Sun's faint outer atmosphere, called the corona, extending outwards in all directions.
