The animation
In the coming years, a new generation of small satellites with cheap and focussed missions are ready to be launched. A flashpoint animation has been produced to introduce the first 5 approved Earth Explorer missions:
- GOCE, the gravity mission
- SMOS, the water mission
- ADM-Aeolus, the wind mission
- CryoSat-2, the ice mission
- Swarm, the magnetism mission
The animation provides details of the satellites and the phenomena they will study covering topics such as wind, ice, gravity, magnetic fields, ocean and soil.
