Spectroscopes and colour wheels are fun to make and play with wherever you are and however old you are! Try building them yourself, and use them to examine different light sources and produce exciting new colours.

Material: 

• Printed worksheet or to be consulted in the computer

For the spectroscope:
• Thick black A4 paper
• Printed A4 spectroscope model (in the appendix)
• 1 old CD or DVD
• Glue stick, ruler, scissors and adhesive tape

For the colour wheel:
• Printed A4 spectroscope model (in the appendix)
• Cardboard
• Colouring pens
• Pencil
• Ruler, scissors and glue stick
• String (the same length as your height!)
• Torch
