Media invitation: ESA, CNES and Cercle partner to put space at the heart of Cercle Festival 2026

Journalists are invited to attend the Cercle Festival 2026 where the European Space Agency (ESA), the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and Cercle will unveil a first-of-its-kind installation in a European music festival: an immersive space dome designed as a hub for discovery and experimentation, named Cupola. The venue will host thematic talks bringing together astronauts, experts and leading scientific figures, a space models exhibition, and immersive experiences including virtual reality and sensory installations.

Today at 17:07 local time on 10 April, 01:07 BST/02:07 CEST on 11 April, NASA’s Orion spacecraft and its crew splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean, marking the end of the Artemis II mission. ESA’s European Service Module powered this historic mission that brought four astronauts around the Moon and back for the first time since Apollo 17 in 1972.

Celeste’s first satellites launched to explore LEO-based satellite navigation

On 28 March, the European Space Agency (ESA) took a major step forward in strengthening Europe's ambition for more resilient satellite navigation, as the first two satellites of the Celeste in-orbit demonstration mission lifted off from New Zealand aboard Rocket Lab’s Electron. Their mission is to begin testing a complementary low Earth orbit layer for Galileo.
