N° 25–1995: ESA Presents First ERS-2 Images and Data

At a media briefing held 16 June 1995 at the Paris Airshow, ESA presented a commisionning status report of the ERS-2 satellite, including a set of 24 new images and data.
Copies of the press kit distributed on this occasion can be ordered from ESA Public Relations.
The press kit, available in English, French, German and Italian, includes:
1. Sheets with four-color reproductions of the 24 images and their captions;
2. a slide set (24x36 mm) of eight of the images;
3. a Kodak Photo-CD containing all 24 images (4000x6000 pixels);
4. the note on the status of the ERS-2 commisionning.
The images cover, in particular, the new instruments or capacities, i.e. first data from the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME), images in the visible bands of the Along-Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR-2), and SAR images made from data of both ERS-1 and ERS-2.
