Title: “10 tips for living in weightlessness”

Disciplines: Science and Language (writing)

Level:2 star

Description: Make a list of tips to make living in weightlessness easier.

Objective(s): Get an understanding of the living conditions in weightlessness. Be imaginative and creative by proposing solutions for making life easier in space. Express in a short and clear way an advice for a third person (the astronaut).

Hints: You might want to give some examples of tips for inspiration:

  • An astronaut drinking should take care not to swallow air. If he / she does swallow some it is very difficult to get rid of again – it won’t burp up like o Earth!
  • The astronaut should learn how to type on the keyboard of the computer, if not his body is pushed up and the keys of the board don’t move! He/she might want to block his/her body before working on the computer
  • The astronaut must make sure that he always puts tools back into his pockets or attached them with Velcro, otherwise they will fly away
