Once upon a time

Rosetta revisits the exciting scientific discoveries she made during her time at Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, including the successful search to find Philae. Finally, she starts preparing to descend to the comet for the end of her extraordinary mission.

Rosetta describes the exciting discoveries she made during her second year at Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, after the comet made its closest approach to the Sun along its orbit. She also tells us about her efforts to contact Philae, and starts counting down to her own mission finale.

Rosetta tells us what she's learned in her first year studying Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, and Philae wakes up from hibernation.

Rosetta and Philae were ready for their biggest challenge yet: landing on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. As Rosetta bid her lander farewell and sent him to the comet's surface, the whole world looked on, anxious to see what would happen next...

Rosetta and Philae had finally reached their destination, Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. Rosetta spent many weeks studying the comet, sending lots of information back to Earth. But where was Philae going to land?"

"...there was a spacecraft called Rosetta. Rosetta had been travelling in space for 10 years, towards a comet called 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Before long, Rosetta was able to see the comet in the distance, and she took stunning pictures as she got closer and closer. There was only a little way to go now..."

"Long, long ago men and women on Earth gazed in wonder at the comets that appeared in the sky. What were these mysterious objects? Rosetta and Philae learn about the history of comets from their grandfather, Giotto."

"After a 10-year journey, Rosetta and Philae are impatient to arrive at their destination!"

"A spacecraft named Rosetta was launched into the sky to uncover mysteries of our Solar System. A long journey lay ahead..."
