From 15 to 19 March 2027, ESA ESRIN, our centre in Frascati dedicated to Earth observation programmes, will host the 2027 edition of ESA School Days.
Save the date and get ready to apply for this unique experience!

A week full of space experiences

Once a year, ESA ESRIN opens its doors to hundreds of students from across Italy for five days of discovery, experimentation and learning. The ESA School Days give young students the opportunity to get closer to the world of space and to discover how scientific research and space exploration are already part of our everyday lives. Through presentations, workshops and hands-on activities, the students will learn how ESA's satellites, technologies and data help us to better understand our planet, protect the environment, respond to emergencies, and prepare for future challenges.

How to participate

Applications to take part in the ESA School Days must be completed online using the registration form, which will be published on this page in early December. Participation is open to primary school classes (grades IV and V) and lower secondary school classes (grades I, II and III). From 15 to 17 March, the programme will be dedicated to primary school classes, while on 18 and 19 March it will be the turn of lower secondary school classes. Participation is free of charge and all sessions will be held in Italian.

Selection criteria

To offer this opportunity to as many schools as possible, each school, identified by the school code (codice meccanografico) of its main site, may register up to a maximum of 50 students. As places are limited, participating schools will be selected on the basis of the database of the most recent editions of the ESA School Days, according to the criteria below:

  • Priority will be given to schools that, according to our database, have never taken part in previous editions. This criterion is decisive and will take precedence over all others.
  • If further places remain available, admission may also be extended to schools that, according to our database, have already taken part in the ESA School Days, in ascending chronological order, giving precedence to the earliest participation over the most recent.
  • The outcome of the selection will be communicated to the teachers in charge, at the email address given in the application, in the weeks following the application deadline.
