IT for space

Operational IT, or technical information services, is a priority for ESA. For every mission that is sent into space a dedicated team of operational IT specialists is available around the clock, during critical launch and low-Earth orbit phases.
IT Teams are also on hand to help with simulations, global communication loops and much more to ensure that those working on ESA’s missions are supported by the best systems that Europe has to offer.

The IT Department supports directly or indirectly all ESA Directorates in their core operations with specialised services, consulting, operation support, IT security support, or in the operation of their data centres.
