Science has established beyond doubt that the window for action to combat climate change is closing rapidly. The 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) aims at building on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition. A golden opportunity for all stakeholders to rise to the occasion and tackle effectively the global challenge of climate change.

This course is dedicated to training the next generation of Earth observation scientists and experts working in agriculture and water domain to exploit data from Earth observation multispectral, hypersprectral and SAR missions (e.g. the Copernicus Sentinels) for science and applications development. 

The workshop brings together experts in Earth observation and experts in ecosystem accounting to jointly discuss the key challenges that need to be addressed in order to use Earth observation in compiling national ecosystem accounts to support national policies.
