ATV Jules Verne is watched backing away from the International Space Station from inside the ATV Control Centre (ATV-CC) in Toulouse, France. Europe’s first ATV undocked from the Station at 23:29 CEST (21:29 GMT) on 5 September 2008.

After 6 months, the Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV), loaded with 6.5 tonnes of waste, separates from ISS and fully burns up during a guided and controlled reentry high over the Pacific.
