On the occasion of the first World Asteroid Day on June 30 ESA has produced a video about how asteroids could threaten life on Earth as we know it and what we can do about it. One solution to threatening asteroids would be to deflect the asteroid by a so-called kinetic impacter. The proposed ESA AIM mission will deal with this and more questions on how to deal with near-earth objects. This same mission will also be presented at the Museo NacĂonal de Ciencia (MNC) in Madrid in an event organised by GMV. For more activities follow the @ESA_tech twitter feed.
