14th international School on the Effects of Radiation on Embedded Systems for Space Applications (SERESSA), 12-16 November 2018 @ ESTEC
This five-day school SERESSA combines academic, government, and industrial communities working in the area of radiation effects on embedded systems. Radiation effects are a significant concern for space and avionics systems, as well as for critical applications operating at ground level such as automotive, medical or even banking.
During these fice days, lecturers with significant experience in key selected subjects will provide a complete state-of-the-art instruction in this strategic field. The school is based on lectures, exercises, and practical courses involving real case studies using the common tools of the domain.
The topics addressed cover the full spectrum of radiation effects on space-embedded systems: space environment, error mechanisms, testing, hardening by design, rate prediction. The intended audience includes both beginning and experienced researchers, engineers, and post-graduate students wishing to enhance their knowledge base in this rapidly evolving field.
Location: ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands
Full programme and registration here.
SEFUW: SpacE FPGA Users Workshop, 4th Edition, 9-11 April 2018 @ ESTEC
The aim of the workshop is to share experiences and wishes among FPGA designers, FPGA vendors and research teams developing methodologies to address radiation mitigation techniques and reconfigurable systems.
The following topics related to FPGAs for space are covered (not limited to):
General design, verification and test issues and good practices
Performance achievements and potential problems
Power consumption achievements and potential issues
Design tools performance, good practices and potential limitations
Radiation mitigation techniques, tools and potential limitations (presenting new or ongoing work, avoiding repetitions of what has already been presented at RADECS, NSREC and SEE Symposium)
Trends of FPGA usage in space applications
Reconfigurable systems
Lessons learned: ensuring successful and safe use of FPGA in space applications
Choosing the best FPGA type for our space application
Export license limitations / changes / ITAR / EAR
Package and assembly challenges
Companion non-volatile memory (when required) experience
Location: ESA/ESTEC (Newton 1 and 2), Noordwijk, The Netherlands
Abstract submission, full programme and registration here.

New overview of ESA IP Cores catalog (September 2017)
the growing number of ESA IP Cores has led us to create a new summary page where IP Cores can be more easily identified, classified in different functional groups and giving visibility to some IPs that ESA expects to make available soon, but are still under development. The names of some of the IP Cores has been modified slightly, for greater clarity.
