Space Basics is a series of online lesson materials that will give secondary school students and their teachers insights into key aspects of space exploration. Each lesson explains the basics of a specific space topic and is supported by satellite images. The lesson also refers to the relevant part of the physics, mathematics, chemistry or biology curriculum for secondary school students.
The 'Space Basics – Earth observation' material explains the basics of Earth observation satellites and remote sensing principles. Students and teachers learn more about the different type of orbits, active and passive sensors and digital image processing.
