Training

The SME Office organises and supports various training courses for SMEs.

Subjects covered take account of requests from SMEs, as well as the availability of ESA experts capable of delivering state-of-the-art knowledge and know-how. Where appropriate, organisations external to ESA are also engaged as a complementary source of expertise.

In addition to the training courses organised by the SME Office, from time to time bespoke training for industry of interest to SMEs is set up by other ESA departments. All courses are also listed below.

- ECOS 5.2 Training (13–14 June)

Content: Learn more about ESA's Costing software ECOS 5.2.
Location: ESA ESTEC, Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

- ECSS Livestream - Session 2 (19–21 June)

Content: ECSS standardisation course covering: Dependability, PA/QA, Safety, EEE components and Materials, mechanical parts and processes. The course will be livestreamed over the Internet.

- R&D proposal writing training for SMEs (4–6 July)

ContentA series of presentations from ESA’s Technical Services and the Procurement Department on "How to write a good proposal in response to an ESA Invitation to Tender for R&D activities", will be followed by a hands-on exercise. 
Location: ESA ESTEC, Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

- Webinar with the ESA Industrial Ombudsman for SMEs (11 October)

Content: In this 90-minute Webinar the ESA Industrial Ombudsman Jack Bosma will describe the function of the Ombudsman and some of the most prominent issues faced by SMEs in the procurement and contract execution process. 
Registration for the Webinar will open after the summer.
