The 3rd ESA International Security Symposium will take place at ESA/ESRIN in Frascati (Rome) from 13-14 February 2017. Registration is open until 30 January 2017 and the final agenda is available.

The Symposium will focus on how challenges related to the security of Big Data – access, analysis, capture, data management and integration, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualisation, querying, updating – impact the activities and security of international and national organisations.

It will offer a unique forum for information exchange, technical discussions and networking between industry security officers, engineers and decision makers, policy makers, space and ground system operators and institutional organisations ranging from space agencies to academia.

The conference will open with a first plenary session, introducing the issues at stake and outlining the challenges, which will be followed by five thematic sessions:

  • Is ‘Space’ bigger than Big Data?
  • Is the security perimeter bigger than the Big Data?
  • How to secure your Big Data?
  • Which Policies are needed for Big Data?
  • Which Tools and Instrumentation are needed for Big Data?

You can see the final agenda here.

The Symposium will also include an exhibition area, in which industrial partners are invited to present their products and solutions.
