Every two years, ESA’s Earth observation summer schools draws young scientists from all over the world to learn more about remote sensing, Earth system science, modelling and monitoring, and how data can be used to better understand the world we live in.

In 2018, the two-week summer school was held on 30 July to 10 August. While the students engage in practical sessions in the afternoons, the morning lectures were streamed live.

On Monday 30 July 2018 the streaming featured:

Earth system, past and present: Anny Cazenave from the Laboratoire d’Etudes en Géophysique et Océanographie Spatiales’, Toulouse, France.
