New definition for on-board software models help improve interoperability between stakeholders
Until now, the processes involved in the development of a model based on–board software have been defined very briefly, despite a definition being essential since the software engineering process is often distributed among several stakeholders. As such, it would be useful to have a common agreement on the information exchanged and their interchange formats to facilitate and ensure interoperability.
A TDE activity with GMV, Spain, has defined a global picture of the data and models needed around the On-Board Software Reference Architecture (OSRA).
First the activity identified what data is exchanged and by who. Once the stakeholders stakeholders involved in the development of a model based on-board software were identified they also formalised the on-board software development process used when a model-based approach is adopted.
By streamlining the development of the software systems it will mean better efficiency and productivity through automation and help to encourage digital continuity.
