The opening of the third ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) in Germany, ESA BIC Northern Germany with headquarters in Bremen was announced earlier this month at the IAC 2018 by ESA Director General Jan Wörner (left), Senator, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Ports of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen Martin Günthner (centre) and German Aerospace Centre DLR Director for Space Program Gerd R. ESA BIC Northern Germany will cover the region of seven German federal states: Bremen, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. The headquarters will be in Bremen, one of Germany’s most important international space hubs. A second branch office is foreseen to open in Berlin in 2020.
